Christofle - Silver Plated Bottle Coaster - Malmaison collection - France, post 1983

This silver-plated coaster is designed to be placed under water bottles, wine bottles and carafes and to protect the table from condensation rings. The coaster is decorated around the edge with lotus leaves in Empire style. In contrast to the new line of coasters, where the center is blank, the center of this vintage coaster is beautifully stylized in the shape of a flower.
