Antique Christofle Carving set - Baguette pattern - France, 1862-1867
A beautiful and antique silver plated carving cutlery from 19th century Paris, manufactured in the factory of Charles Christofle between 1862 and 1867. The set consists of a carving knife, a meat fork and a sharpening steel. The blade of the knife is made of steel and bears the inscription "Christofle a Paris".

In good condition, with slight wear consistent with age.
The meat fork is marked with [Oval in square containing C-Scales-C above 2 laurel branches]. This sign was used from 1862-1867. All parts also bear a rare mark from the 19th century of a rhombus in a square, showing a bee under the typical Christofle scales. Flanking this are the initials C.C. This mark for silver-plated objects was only used in the period 1860-1914. [CHRISTOFLE].
