Silver Plated Art Deco cutlery canteen - 44-piece/6-pax. - 56. Nordique - Gero, Georg Nilsson - the Netherlands, 1939-1952
An original and complete silver-plated canteen of cutlery in Art Deco style, made in the period from 1939-1952 by Gero, Zeist. The design is by Georg Nilsson. Although the Art Deco style had long been on the decline in the 1950's, the Nordique pattern, with its simple but sleek design, remained very popular and was sold until 1958. The wooden canteen consists of three drawers with a tan inlay in which the cutlery can be perfectly stored. Attached to this is a plaque with "Gero Zilver", which narrows the dating to 1952, when after a change in Dutch law the silver plated products of Gero continued under the name Gero Zilvium.
