Antique Oak- and Mahogany Shop Till - Dudley's of London, c. 1890-1900
An antique mahogany and oak shop till from the late 19th century, made by Dudley's of London circa 1890-1900. The till consists of a wooden chest with a drawer system in which a bell sounds when the drawer is extended (as a prevention against shoplifting). When the folding lid is raised, a roll of receipt paper can be attached to the cylinder.
The original brass hardware is present, as well as the Dudley's logo and instructions for use on the inside of the lid.
