Antique set of 12 Christofle dinner Spoons - Chinon collection - France, 1863

A set of 12 antique silver plated dinner spoons from the Chinon collection (Filets) - dating from 1863. The spoons are in surprisingly good condition for their age. Unlike modern soup spoons, these pieces still have a flat end of the rim of the spoon bowl - an old custom that dates back to the early 1800s and later disappeared. Christofle only removed the Chinon model from her collection in 2016, illustrating the success and timelessness of this cutlery.

After about 160 years, the spoons have some signs of wear (small scratches, here and there some discolouration.) About 4 spoons have small worn spots on the back of the spoon tray.
