Christofle - Antique silver plated set of Cutlery - Chinon collection - 55-piece/6-pax. - France, 1860-1898
An extremely old silver plated set of cutlery, by Christofle of France. The set dates from the 1860's up to the 1890's, which makes it a very early production by Christofle. From the Chinon collection. This pattern has been a fixture throughout the company's history, only having been discontinued since 2016. Because of this, these pieces will become increasingly rare.
Consisting of;
- 6 dinner spoons
- 6 dinner knives
- 6 dinner forks
- 6 fish knives
- 6 fish forks
- 6 appetizer/breakfast spoons
- 6 dessert knives
- 4+1 dessert forks (1 is slightly larger)
- 3 teaspoons
- 3 coffee spoons
- Large soup spoon
- gravy spoon
The pieces are in good, used condition commensurate to their age. Some worn spots on the handles of the knives, and some wear on the teeth of the forks. The silver luster is beautifully preserved everywhere.
