A pair of Ecclesiastical Brass Candlesticks - Low Countries, c. 1900
A pair of early twentieth-century ecclesiastical brass pricket candlesticks in the baroque style, the tripod base standing on ball-and-claw feet and decorated with masks and volutes. Marked below the masks with "ILS" "1699", a reference to the 17th century original these pieces were based off. Low Countries, c. 1900.
These candlesticks would have originaly lit a chapel or altar. While not particularly rare in their countries of origin, the pair is in exceptional condition, retaining a deep golden hue.
