Christofle/Manufacture de L'Alfenide - Silver Plated Dinner Cutlery - 24-piece/12-pax. - Pompadour - France, 1920's
A beautiful silver-plated set of dinner cutlery from Christofle's Pompadour collection. The pieces are made by Manufacture de L'Alfenide in Paris. This silversmith was taken over by Christofle in 1888, and continued to produce silverware under its own name until the early 1930's. As a result, these pieces bear both the maker's mark of Christofle and that of Man. Alfenide. Tastefully decorated with scrollwork and acanthus leaves.
- 12 dinner spoons
- 12 dinner forks
The cutlery is in very good condition, with light scratches appropriate to its age. Please refer to the pictures for an impression.
All pieces are marked in the spoon trays and under the tines of the forks with [Goat's Head in Diamond Inside Square] above [ALFENIDE] and [O-Chess Piece-C][84] for Orfevrerie Christofle - silver plated based on 84 grams.
