Gero - Silver Plated Children's Utensils with Fairytale decor - Red Riding Hood

A silver plated children's set of utensils by Gero, the Netherlands. These utensils of about 14cm long are decorated with fairytale scenes of Red Riding Hood. The fork shows Red Riding Hood traversing the forest with cookies, while the big bad wolf is lying in wait behind the trees. The spoon shows mother handing over apples, cookies and a bottle of wine for grandmother before departure.

While this pattern was already included in Gero's catalogue of 1940, it is likely that this set was produced at the turn of the 1960's, based on the makers marks on the back of the stems; [E][GERO][90].
