Sivar (Delheid Frères) - Large silver-plated Louis XVI tray -Belgium, c. 1945-1955

A large silver plated tray by the Belgian house of Delheid. Under its line of Sivar products, Delheid released a variety of silver-plated household items from the late 1930's onwards. This tray probably dates from the period 1945-1955, and is beautifully executed in the Louis XVI style. The tray with two handles is decorated with a rim of pearls, the handles embellished with acanthus leaves. A very stylish piece in excellent condition.
