Wiskemann, Brussel - Silver Plated Cutlery Set - N. 7 "Louis XIV" & N. 20 "Louis XVI"- 129-piece/12-pax. - Belgium, 1930-1960
Splendid silver-plated set of cutlery by Belgian house of Wiskemann. The pieces are decorated in the style of Louis XIV - referred to in Wiskemanns's 1931 sales catalog as "N.7 Louis XIV" and beautifully adorned with a scallop (a shell motif) on the bottom of the stems. The knives - for starter and main courses, in the N. 20 "Louis XVI" pattern of the same period, a beautiful design with garlands of flowers. Wiskemann was founded in 1872 by Otto Leonard Wiskemann, and grew into one of the best known and most appreciated silversmith's in Belgium. The last two pictures show the models depicted in the 1931 catalogue.
The cutlery is suitable for 12 people and consists of 129 parts in total.

The pieces are in good, slightly used condition. Some microscratching present. No damage or loss of the silver. A beautiful piece of Belgian craftsmanship in excellent condition for its age.
All pieces are marked in the bowls and under the tines of the forks with [OW][+][100].
