Splendid, antique silver-plated set of cutlery in the style of the Directoire - subtly decorated with a pattern of laurel leaves - by Orfevre Chauvin & Lacombe, Paris. The cutlery is suitable for 12 people and consists of a total of 37 parts, namely:
- 12 dinner spoons
- 12 dinner knives
- 12 dinner forks
- Ladle
In excellent condition.
Marked in the bowls of the spoons and under the tines of the forks with [Comet above C&L][84gr] for Chauvin et Lacombe. The blades marked with "Cometal Paris - Inoxydable". This silversmith was active after the end of the First World War, and was located at 8 Rue de Braque in Paris. Dating c. 1919-1920.
