French silver Carving Set - Edmond Zeihen, Paris - 1887-1912

An antique French silver carving set in .950 (1st grade) silver. The set - consisting of a carving knife and carving fork - was made in the periodbetween 1887 to 1912 by the silversmith Edmond Zeihen in Paris. The handles of the pieces are machine-engraved with wavy lines, which form a grid pattern. At the bottom a cartouche with a border of pearls, floral details and a monogram "D".
The original box is still present and in in fair condition. The cloth on the inside of the lid is torn in several places.
