Set of 12 antique Christofle Fish forks - Chinon collection - France, 1860-1914
A set of 12 antique Christofle fish forks from the Chinon collection, from the period 1864-1914. These pieces have a heart-shaped fillet line at the bottom of the stem. The blades of the forks are beautifully engraved with scrolled cartouches with gridwork. The backsides engraved with a line of dots running along the edges. The Chinon collection was finally discontinued in 2016, marking the end of a 160-year legacy.
The pieces are in good condition, with signs of wear commensurate to their age. These are limited to superficial scratches due to historical usage.
Length: 17.6cm
Marked on the back of the stems with [A bee under C-Scales-C for Christofle & Cie/Charles Christofle in diamond within square][CHRISTOFLE]. This hallmark was introduced in 1860 and remained in use until the beginning of the First World War.
