A Silver Plated Lidded Dish by Mapping & Webb - England, 1900-1950
A silver-plated serving dish by Mappin & Webb. This firm is one of England's most renowned manufacturers of silverware. The company was founded in 1755 and still exists today.
The dish oval in shape, decorated with a pearled rim. The lid engraved with a pattern of meanders, lotus leaves and cartouches. The volute-shaped handle can be twisted off, allowing the lid to serve as a second dish when placed upside down on the table.
In very good condition. Some silver loss on the inside of the dish. Please view the photos for an impression.
