Orfevrerie Wiskemann - Silver Plated Cutlery Caneen - Empire-style - 90-piece/12-pax. - Belgium, 1924-1950
Beautiful silver-plated set of cutlery, made in the first half of the 20th century by the Orfevrerie Otto Wiskemann of Brussels. The three-drawer canteen contains a cutlery set of 90 high-quality silver-plated pieces - including serving cutlery, cutlery for the starter, main course, and desserts. All pieces are decorated with an Empire-style pattern of pearls and acanthus leaves.
Consisting of:
- 12 dinner spoons (20.3cm)
- 12 dinner knives (24cm)
- 12 dinner forks (20.5cm)
- 12 fishing knives (22cm)
- 12 starter/lunch knives (21cm)
- 12 pastry forks (13.5cm)
- 12 coffee spoons (13.5cm)

The cutlery is in excellent condition for its age. There are some small scratches. The silver layer is completely intact and the lustre is beautifully preserved. Please view the photos for an impression.
Marked under the tines of the forks and in the bowls of the spoons: [OW+][100]. The blades of the knives also bear the Wiskemann logo.
The Orfevrerie Wiskemann was founded in 1872 by Otto Leonard Wiskemann, and grew into one of the most renowned silversmiths in Belgium. Wiskemann's silver-plated cutlery can be considered the absolute top in terms of quality and craftsmanship, which is reflected, among other things, in the refinement of the decorations applied.
