Beautiful antique, silver-plated canteen of cutlery by the French Orfevrerie Ercuis. This set comes in the Lauriers pattern. As the name suggests, the decor is decorated with laurel leaves, which adorn the stems. The undersides decorated with a symmetrical decoration of acanthus leaves. This pattern has been part of Ercuis' collection since 1911, and with its subdued yet graceful decor, it suits almost any occasion. The cutlery is suitable for 12 table guests and consists of no fewer than 115 pieces. The whole comes in its original, solid wooden canteen with folding lid, insertable plateaus and brown velvet lining.

The cutlery is in very good condition. The antique blades of the knives are a bit worn here and there. Please refer to the pictures for an impression.

The Lauriers pattern is still sold by Ercuis today. The last picture we see the pattern depicted in the 1977 catalogue.
Ercuis is one of France's most famous silversmiths, with a long history dating back to 1867. The company was a purveyor to the French Navy, supplying luxury hotels and cruise ships on the Cote d'Azur in the 1950's.
