Christofle - Manufacture de L'Alfenide - Pompadour - Silver Plated Cutlery Canteen - 37-piece/12-pax. - France, 1900-1935
Beautiful silver-plated set of cutlery, issued by Christofle in the Alfenide line, in the Pompadour collection. These heavily silver-plated cutlery pieces are decorated with a subtle Louis XV pattern with a wavy contour and acanthus leaves. From 1888 to 1935, Christofle offered a separate line of cutlery parts under the name Alfenide, named after the "Manufacture de L'Alfenide" company acquired by them. It is likely that Christofle still had this cutlery in stock in 1935 - when the company discontinued the brand name Alfenide - and also provided it with her own quality mark. The whole comes in its original canteen, is suitable for 12 table guests and consists of a total of 37 parts.
Consisting of:
- 12 dinner spoons (20.5cm)
- 12 dinner forks (20.5cm)
- 12 coffee spoons (13.5cm)
- Ladle
Practically in brand new condition.
All pieces are marked on the back of the stems with [O-Chess piece-C for Orfevrerie Christofle][Alfenide][Goat head within diamond, flanked by the numbers 84.]
