Beautiful pair of silver-plated serving pieces for fish dishes - the pattern depicted in the 1926 catalog as No. 145 Renaissance - decorated with curling acanthus leaves on the handles. The silver-plated blades are finely engraved with a decor of water plants and fish.
Marked with [Goat's head within diamond in square][ALFENIDE].
Manufactured by Manufacture de L'Alfenide in Paris - c. 1920. This company had existed since the mid-19th century and was taken over by Christofle in 1888. Cutlery pieces in the Alfenide line were still issued until the middle of the 20th century.
